The Antibes Raft Race is delighted to announce YACHTNEEDS as an official Media partner for our upcoming charity fundraising event on 14th April:

YACHTNEEDS has been dominating the yachting industry for the last two years with its digital platform for Captains and crew. In just a couple of years the YACHTNEEDS app and website has gone from an idea by a frustrated first mate needing to find a supplier in a port he didn’t know before new guests arrived, to a company of 20 supporting Captains and crew around the world.

We spoke to founder (and ex first mate) Tony Stout about his thoughts on why YACHTNEEDS has been so well received. “YACHTNEEDS was born from a simple problem most crew face in their daily lives - finding good quality onshore services to facilitate the day to day workings onboard.

“We wanted to build not just a directory, but a platform that crew can use daily. We’ve now got 26,000 onshore service providers that crew can access instantly and effortlessly in any port they are in around the world; a jobs section where they can apply for all the latest superyacht jobs, and a live chat function so crew can find and chat to other crew, and find day workers in the port they are in. It’s proving to be an invaluable tool… with some pretty high tech and incredible features yet to come.

“We are stoked to be able to support the Antibes Raft Race, in fact a few of us have been involved in previous years and will be on the dock this year cheering on friends who have entered a raft. Plus our production manager Costas is going to compere the event whilst following the rafts on a water bike… I mean where else can you spend the day laughing while your crewmates epically fail and still raise a bunch of money for charity!”
